Giving Tuesday harnesses the generosity of millions of people from around the world to support the causes they believe in and the communities in which they live.
This year the North Hill PTSA has partnered with the North Hill teachers and staff to raise money and goods for families in need within our community.
Every year the PTSA sets aside a portion of funds raised to support families in need within our school, we call it our Community Fund. The holidays can be especially hard. This year we’re using additional funds raised the week of Giving Tuesday, December 2–6, to support those families for the holidays. All funds raised will go directly into our Community Fund which supports families within our school.
In addition, the North Hill teachers and staff are going to use this week to teach kids about giving and resources within our community that families in need can turn to.
How can you contribute?
- Make a cash or check donation to the North Hill PTSA. Please drop donations in the PTSA RedBox located in the office or send it with your child to give to their teacher. Check with your employer and see if they’ll match your contribution.
- Donate at our NHE PTSA shop: bit.ly/nheptsaGT2019
- Facebook also has a matching campaign in support of Giving Tuesday. Choose North Hill PTSA 9 5 127 as your benefiting non-profit. More info will be posted on NHE PTSA Facebook group that week.
Have your child bring any of the following to school during the week of December 2–6:
All diaper donations will be delivered to WestSide Baby. “WestSide Baby is a non-profit organization that collects new and used items for children and babies and distributes them free of charge to King County families in need.”
All donations will go directly to the Des Moines Food Bank benefiting families within our community. Did you know that the Des Moines Food Bank supplies backpacks with food for kids within our community?

All socks will be donated to Mary’s Place. “Mary’s Place provides safe, inclusive shelter and services that support women, children, and families on their journey out of homelessness.”
